Sumie Kaneko performs “Sango-Jugoya” (三月十五夜 — Thirteenth Night of the Third Month), an original composition for koto and shamisen. Sango-Jugoya evokes the beauty of the full moon in early spring, drawing on the imagery of classical Japanese poetry while weaving in contemporary jazz harmony and improvisational structure. Featured on her second album Dead of the Night (2016).
